Sutherland Flag
Yesterday saw the unveiling of the winning flag for Sutherland. The flag was raised by active and retired officers from @HMSSutherland. Music was provided by the Sutherland Schools Pipe Band at the @HighlandCouncil office in Drummuie.

East Lothian Flag
The winner of the East Lothian flag competition has been revealed. The design refers to the county as home to the legendary origin site of the Saltire. The lion recalls that on the civic arms, referring to the Earldom of Dunbar and East Lothian's role in defending the nation.

The Royal Celtic Society met in the Dome at New Register House for their AGM. The Lord Lyon gave a lecture on the “Clans and Scottish Heraldry". The Society’s three Vice Presidents are the last three Lord Lyons.

Order of the Thistle
The Annual St Andrewstide Service at St Giles Cathedral, Edinburgh, yesterday was attended by the Knights of the Thistle, accompanied by the Secretary and the Dean, led by the Lord Lyon and the Officers of Arms. Photographs by Edward Mallinson.

Messengers-at-Arms
On the 1st December the Lord Lyon as President of the Society of Messengers-at-Arms and Sheriff Officers attended the Society's AGM at Airth Castle. The Macer of the Court of the Lord Lyon is by tradition a member of the Society.

Royal Overseas League
The Royal Over-Seas League held its St Andrew's Night Dinner in the Royal Scots Club, Edinburgh . The Lord Lyon gave a lecture on the "Symbol of St Andrew in Scots Heraldry" and was honoured to propose the Toast to "St Andrew and Scotland."
