Snawdoun in Stirling
Snawdoun Herald attended, and played a major part in the organization of, a Gala Dinner in Stirling Castle with the Princess Royal, celebrating the 900th anniversary of the Stirling Guildry.
Unicorn in Glasgow
On Friday 5th October, Unicorn Pursuivant gave the after-dinner speech to the Old Boys' Association of Fort Augustus Abbey School, at La Bonne Auberge in Glasgow. He gave a brief introduction to the heraldry on the Donors' Windows which can still be seen in the former abbey, now an hotel.
Lyon's Lecture
On the 5th October the Lord Lyon streamed a live video lecture to the Scottish North American Leadership Conference on Genealogy and the Scottish North American Diaspora in Troy, Detroit . His lecture was entitled “Recent Developments in the Lyon Court Practices."
Viscount Dunrossil spoke at the banquet and Dr Bruce Durie of Edinburgh also spoke at one of the sessions.

College of Nautical Studies
Yesterday, the Lord Lyon attended the 50 year Celebration Dinner in Glasgow City Chambers of the Nautical College on the Clyde which is now part of the City of Glasgow College. The principal guest was the First Sea Lord and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Tony Radakin, CB ADC. Lyon Morrow granted arms to City of Glasgow College in 2016.

Lyon in Dumfries
The Lord Lyon gave a lecture entitled “The Law of Scots Heraldry “ in Dumfries to the University of the 3rd Age, Dumfries. There were around 150 people signed up for the lecture and question and answer session.

Grant from South Africa
The Lord Lyon received a copy of the Letters Patent from the South African Bureau of Heraldry in Pretoria granting arms to the District Grand Lodge of KwaZula Natal which is a District of the Grand Lodge of Scotland. The grant is in a long line of grants to masonic bodies by the Lyon Court and other jurisdictions.

Lyon at the Royal Celtic Society
The Lord Lyon attended the Royal Celtic Society lunch-time lecture by Professor Ewen Cameron of Edinburgh University on Land Reform in Scotland since 1909. The Lord Lyon and Robin Blair CVO with the Rt Hon Earl of Dalhousie were elected as Vice Presidents of the Society.

Submarine Memorial
The Annual Memorial Service was held on the 7th September at the Submarine Memorial in Dundee Harbour with a reception in the City Chambers. It was attended by the Lord Lyon and ex-submariners from a number of countries.
Unicorn at St Mary's Metropolitan Cathedral
Unicorn Pursuivant attended the ceremony this evening at St Mary's Metropolitan Cathedral, Edinburgh, when the Archbishop welcomed the arrival of the mortal remains of the great saint and Doctor of the Church, St Therese of Lisieux who died in 1897.

Lyon at the V & A Dundee
The Lord Lyon attended the 1st Anniversary Celebration Dinner of the V & A Dundee on the 5th September. The Museum was opened by Their Royal Highnesses the Earl and Countess of Strathearn and has had around three quarters of a million visitors since it opened.

Chancellor of the Order of St John
The Chancellor of the Order of St John in Scotland (the Lord Lyon) presented awards to family members who have recently lost a loved one who have donated an organ. The ceremony was held in the Botanic Gardens Edinburgh with about 200 people present.

Lyon as Diocesan Chancellor
On the 1st September the Lord Lyon as Chancellor of the Diocese attended Choral Evensong in St Andrew's Cathedral, Inverness to mark 150 years of worship in the Cathedral, which was founded by Bishop Robert Eden.

New Grant of Arms
The Lord Lyon has presented a grant of arms to Robert Norman Macleod. The artist is Clare McCrory. The blazon is: "Parted per fess enarched Azure and Or, in chief two galleys of the Second, in base a mountain Azure in flames."
