The Office of the Lord Lyon is marking International Women's Day by tweeting some examples of female coat of arms throughout the day.
This entry, from Volume One of the Public Register, has no exemplification but it is included here because it was the very first for a woman in her own right - the "puissant princess" the Duchess of Buccleuch and she is granted a shield, crest and motto.
