Quarterly, first Argent a fess wreathy Azure and Gules within a border of the Second for Carmichael; 2nd and 3rd Gules three keys bar-wise wards downwards Or, for Gibson; 4th Ermine on a fess Sable three crescents Argent for Craig

From our files 100 years ago today, here are the arms of the eminent judge, Robert Younger, Baron Blanesburgh of Alloa, son of two Scottish brewing families, Younger and McEwan.


Per saltire Or and Gules a rose counterchanged in base a martlet Sable on a chief indented Azure three covered cups Or. Supporters: Dexter, the figure of St Blane; Sinister, an Ermine both proper standing upon a mount set with thistles.
